1.During cooling (the most crucial part) during cutting, the tool and the workpiece will instantly reach temperatures of several hundred degrees Celsius. Without cutting fluid → the tool will become overheated, become soft, and even break → it will be directly scrapped. Cutting fluid can quickly dissipate the heat, protecting the tool and the material of the workpiece.
2.Lubrication and friction reduction decrease the friction between the cutting tool, the chips and the workpiece, making the cutting process smoother. This reduces the cutting force and minimizes vibrations, resulting in significantly better surface finish of the parts.
3.Deburring & Cleaning: This process removes iron and aluminum chips, as well as powders from the cutting area, preventing the chips from scratching the already machined surface, blocking the cutter, or damaging the workpiece.
4.Anti-rust & Protecting the Machine Tool To prevent the workpieces, fixtures, guides, and spindles from rusting in humid environments, thereby extending the overall lifespan of the machine tool.
