Has your vehicle's acceleration become sluggish? Did your car backfire this morning? Whether it's the vibrating accelerator pedal or the strange noise coming from under the car, without proper attention and expert repair, exhaust problems can turn into a much more costly engine overhaul.
Symptoms of exhaust leakage or exhaust system failure:
Check if the engine light is on
The lingering burning or foul smell in the cabin
Thick black, gray, white or blue smoke is billowing from the exhaust port
A large amount of water dripped from the exhaust pipe
Jingling sounds from the suspended muffler or scraping from the trailing exhaust pipe
A loud exhaust sound or hissing, cracking, knocking or ticking (the sound gets louder when accelerating) indicates that you need to check your exhaust system.
The solution might be as simple as diagnosing an exhaust leak, repairing a pipe or replacing a manifold gasket.
